The Costanera Norte is the continuation of the Palermo district, but opened on the river Thames de la Plata. Once the great place for weekends for porteñas families, it has now lost many of its charm. The Island of Las Americas, however, is one of the major green spaces of the capital, recently built over 7 hectares. It lies between avenue Rafael Obligado and the lighthouse, at the level of La Pampa street.
