Find out all about Boca's true passion: Club Atlético Boca Juniors. Founded in April 1905 by Genoese immigrants and 31-time Argentinian champions, the club adopted its famous yellow and blue colours when a manager spotted a Swedish flag on a ship in the port of La Boca. Historic rivals are C.A. River Plate, Argentina's other most popular and successful club. Opponents give rise to the "Superclásico", a match of unparalleled commitment. Such is the boquense passion that 40% of the fans in Argentina support Boca Juniors! Many players have played for the club, starting with the most famous of them all, Diego Armando Maradona, and including Martin Palermo, the club's all-time top scorer with 236 goals, the artist Juan Roman Riquelme (the number one idol of the Xeneize fans!), the whimsical striker Claudio Caniggia, Carlos Tevez and the goleador Gabriel Batistuta. The museum's programme includes a visit to the Bombonera stadium ("La Bonbonnière"), videos recounting the history of the club in blue and yellow, computers displaying statistical data, a fresco by Maradona, a 360° cinema... a new way to discover one of the most famous football stadiums in the world. On the way out you will find many shops, cheaper than the official shop, decorated with statues of two of the club's most popular footballers: Diego Maradona and Carlos Tévez.
