El Gran Capitán ceased to circulate in November 2011. We include it in this guide because many rumours indicate a resumption of service at the end of 2016. Information to be confirmed.

This train allowed the entire Uruguayan border to reach Posadas after 26 hours of travel. From there it was very easy to reach the Iguazú Falls.
