Close to the estuary at Paalameenmadu, this white lighthouse was built in 1923 by the British and is 28 meters high. Although it cannot be visited, the quietness of the place and the view on the bay attract walkers. A small park with games for children is nearby. It is possible to take a boat trip, to visit the small Ecopark on the other side of the lagoon (by boat), or the Batticaloa Environmental Learning Center, designed to teach you more about the local ecosystem.
