27 kilometers northwest of Mannar. Known as the closest geographical point in Sri Lanka to India (30 kilometers), Talaimannar is also the place where Adam's Bridge (or Rama's Bridge) begins, a string of sandbanks interspersed with shoals that would have linked the two countries in the past. Passing on the other side of the railway and the new station, past the many fishermen's houses, you reach the beach and the lighthouse. When the boats return, many people are busy around the nets. We can go there to take some nice pictures, with the authorization of the military, of course.
