It is a beautiful small basin (pokuna) of modest size in the shape of a lotus (nelum ) dating from the 12th century. Carved in granite, it is made up of several descending levels formed by 8 lotus petals. It is believed to have been created for use by the monks of the nearby Jetavana Vihara. It is located in a flowery garden with a peaceful atmosphere. Travelling to this site is of lesser interest due to its distance from the main sites.
