A small hamlet on an islet, Grand-Bassin is located slightly upstream from the Bras de la Plaine. Accessible only by a 650-metre trail that starts at Bois Court, it is easy to get off. The place is known for its watercourse and its numerous basins. The few inhabitants have almost all converted to the guesthouse. You will be there in peace and quiet and out of time. In the morning, many endemic birds will wake you up with their songs. For the ascent, you will have to raise your knees and arm yourself with endurance. The advantage is that few tourists venture there, which will allow you to enjoy the trails.
