A puy culminating at 699 metres, with views over Clermont-Ferrand, Ceyrat, the Gergovie plateau and the Chaîne des Puys.
Between Ceyrat and Romagnat, this peak rises to 699 metres. Its name comes from the Latin mons rugosus, meaning "rough mountain". In 1190, a feudal castle was built by Robert I, dauphin of Auvergne. Today, all that remains is a piece of the keep at the summit. Its steep slopes are a delight for runners, and home to numerous orchids. The view from the summit is well worth the detour, offering a 360° panorama of Clermont-Ferrand, Ceyrat, the Gergovie plateau and the Chaîne des Puys. The trail also leads to the Tranchère mill.

Bien que courte, elle est assez pentue et les quelques mètres de la fin sont dans la rocaille et reste glissant quelque soit la saison...
En haut, on découvre les restes d'un donjon et surtout une vue panoramique sur la région...
