Situated at an altitude of 600 metres, the town boasts beautiful winegrowers' houses and fountains. Surrounded by a forest of centuries-old pines, it's the ideal starting point for numerous hikes. You can follow the "Remonter à la source" sound trail from the Artière gorges to the Saint-Genès-Champanelle wetlands, or the classic fitness trails. The more adventurous can try their hand at rock climbing. Near the Artenium, the Moulin de la Tranchère and its reconstructed antique bakery are waiting to be discovered. Overlooking the site, the ruins of the Château de Montrognon emerge from a volcanic mound.
