Approx. 15,000 inhabitants in the municipality and surrounding villages. Small town on the road to Novo Mesto. The town only really developed after the Second World War. Several districts were built, bringing together more than a hundred hamlets into a single municipality. It's a simple town with no particular originality or curiosity. The surrounding area has a few tourist attractions that are well worth a visit, such as the Krka springs, numerous archaeological sites that bear witness to the rich local past, and above all Stična Abbey, one of Slovenia's oldest religious buildings.
