ST. GEORGE'S CATHEDRAL

Situated at the top of a hill offering spectacular views over the city, the cathedral's name is a tribute to St. George, who is said to have saved Piran from the storm in the ^14th century. From its campanile, a replica of its famous Venetian twin, you'll marvel at the view of the Adriatic and the Italian and Croatian coastline on the horizon. The campanile is reached by a steep but secure staircase. The view is well worth the short climb. The walk ends with a brief look at the octagonal baptistery of St. John.
