Population approx. 25,000. The main town in Slovenian Istria is also a major industrial and port city. The old town center is well worth a visit: Titov Trg is a fabulous concentration of Venetian architecture! Today, the city is still distinctly polyglot, and the meeting of the Latin and Slavic worlds lives on. It's looking to be at the forefront of the new Silk Roads, with varying degrees of success!
