Trenta is a conglomeration of small hamlets with around 100 inhabitants. It is the only village on the road to the Vršič pass from Bovec. A major tourist attraction, it is home to the Triglav National Park House, where you'll find the best advice on hiking itineraries, as well as restaurants and accommodation. A welcome change of scenery, Trenta's territory was often used as a bargaining chip between Italians and Austrians, before it became Slovenian in time. Since then, time seems to have stood still, offering us a captivating, dreamlike landscape.
