With 18,500 inhabitants, Radovljica is a small town perched on a promontory. At first glance, there's nothing welcoming about it, but the old town is well worth a visit. At the heart of the old town, the main square, where only pedestrians can stroll, is lined with remarkable 16th- and 17th-century buildings. This square is famous throughout the country, not only for its architecture, but also for its history. It's called Linhart, after the first Slovenian playwright who was born here. It is lulled by the classical music of Slovenia's most renowned conservatory. The religious buildings and calm of Linhart make you forget the crowds of Bled.
