It was built after the Second World War. The building was designed by Edvard Ravnikar. The permanent collection is composed of paintings, sculptures, but also touches the photography or graphic arts. The latter are honored during the International Biennial which takes place every odd year in the museum. The descriptions in English give a clearer picture of Ljubljana's role as the cultural capital of Yugoslavia.
