The town's mining past is still evident in its architecture and facilities: the Bavard shaft headframe, the miners' house, the mining museum... All around, nature is the order of the day and activities abound. The Via Allier leads to Varennes-sur-Usson. The cycling itinerary retraces the daily life of the miners. The coal was placed in boats called sapinières, which sailed on the Allier and Loire rivers. It's not only the mine that is highlighted in the town, but also the history of locomotion. When spring arrives, music can be heard throughout the town at the Arverne Reggae Festival.
