A well-located beachfront hotel, with a pleasant pool and charming, if a little old-fashioned, bungalows. The service is good and the breakfast is very good (which is always appreciated). The only shadow in this idyllic picture is that the establishment is mostly frequented by Asian tourist groups, so live music and karaoke evenings are a regular occurrence... If you don't like to sing (or if you don't like to hear much singing), don't bother!

We can't talk about Pedro's Resort (formerly Roberto's) without introducing its charming owners Melissa and Roberto. From Quebec, they settled in Bohol with the intention of taking the local rhythm and built this charming little resort, with rooms articulated around a pretty garden. Simple and clean, they all have a small terrace. In the morning you can have breakfast under the patio planted in the middle of the garden, and in the evening you can have a drink at the bar. A simple but nice address away from the bustle of Alona Beach.

Located at one scooter acceleration from Alona Beach (towards Danao), Hope Homes is an excellent solution for budget travelers who wish to enjoy the island and its surroundings in a relaxed way. In the heart of a garden, a dozen nipa bungalows are installed around a patio that serves as a restaurant-bar. The comfort is basic but the whole is well kept and the atmosphere is very good and the staff is very attentive. It is a little bit out of the way but the use of the motorcycle (included in the price) makes up for it.
