Billom is a charming, lively little town with the Pays d'art et d'histoire label. On the left bank of the Angaud is the old town with its cobblestone streets. On the other bank is the old suburb and shopping district. Stroll from one to the other over the pretty Pont du Marché, which takes us back to medieval times. The timber-framed facades of the Rue des Boucheries and the remains of the medieval city walls complete the illusion. The journey back in time continues with a visit to the Château de Montmorin, a former fortified castle, or the Château des Martinanches, not forgetting a detour to the Collegiate Church of Saint-Cerneuf and the Church of Saint-Loup.
