Located in the east of theaimag, along the Kherlen river, this district center is not very interesting in itself, but it allows to radiate in this historically rich area. The village is best known for being the first capital of the Mongolian Empire. Chinggis Khaan was used as a base camp in winter. According to some historians, it would be from this point that the emperor would have launched his first attacks towards the south. There are also the mineral springs of Avarga Toson and the Toson Lake. Rich in minerals, their waters are known for their therapeutic virtues and can relieve arthritis and dermatological diseases.
