This lake, smaller than Uvs Nuur and protected since 2000, covers an area of 1,406 km², and its depth can reach 80 m in places. Located at 1,028 m above sea level, it is home to the Mongolian grayling, an extremely rare fish. Its north-western bank is endowed with hot springs, which gush out of shale and sandstone rocks. The site is called Khar Termesiin Rashaan in Mongolian. A little further south, but still in the national park, Airag Nuur is a small lake connected to the previous one by a wide river. Both bodies of water are good for bird watching. The only problem of this park is its relatively difficult access.
