This typical wine-growing village, also known as "Belvedere de la Typical", is 5 km from Aigueperse. With its location at the crossroads of ancient paths, Artonne becomes an important town from the Gallo-Roman era. A former fortified town, it kept part of its medieval enclosure, flanked by two towers. The Saint-Martin Church of the th and th centuries was reorganized, but kept a part prior to the first half of the th century. Gallo-Roman remains were used for its construction. Inside the wrought iron chorus and the former chapter hall. A Still festival is organised every year. Also, those who want to discover the local flora can take a tour in the Parc du Puy-Saint-Jean, where a trail was built by the commune and the Conservatoire des Spaces et des Paysages d'Auvergne.
