The last kilometre of the road leading to Cala Tirant is a dirt road that is quite passable. The water is generally calm (a little less so in winter, as the wind from the Tramuntana creates beautiful waves that attract surfers) and shallow, making it a good destination for families with children. It is a semi-urban beach, with a few buildings on the surrounding hills, but they do not spoil the landscape. Despite the crowds in high season, Cala Tirant, thanks to its large size, remains a peaceful and quiet beach.
