Travel Guide Punta Nati

To reach Punta Nati, leave Ciutadella and drive north through the scrubland to the lighthouse of Punta Nati, located at the north-western end of the island (you can visit the prehistoric village of Torre Vella and its talayot). The sea currents and powerful winds in this part of the island were once the cause of many shipwrecks. The one of the French steamer General Chanzy on February 9, 1910 was decisive: it was then decided to build a lighthouse on Punta Nati, which was designed by the engineer Mauro Serret and inaugurated in September 1913. The site of the lighthouse is famous for its beautiful sunset!
