Opened in 1970 and renovated in 2015, Café Balear offers an interesting daily lunch menu. Very popular with the locals, this is one of the best restaurants in Ciutadella, with a long queue of customers in the summer (we highly recommend taking a seat around 8pm at the latest to avoid the wait). Once you are settled, you will enjoy a typical Menorcan gastronomic experience, based on products brought back every day from the sea by the Rosa Santa, the restaurant's fishing boat.

In one of the quietest streets in the center of Ciutadella, this historic establishment opened in 1992. It's "the place to be" for pizza. Wood-fired oven, fresh quality ingredients, dough and artisanal know-how... the perfect combination. In addition to the extensive pizza menu, à la carte dishes offer good value for money. Varied salads, grilled vegetables, a selection of Iberian charcuterie, shrimps, mussels and calamari, carpaccios, rib steaks and grilled monkfish. Pizzeria Roma belongs to the famous Cafè Balear.

Opened in the spring of 2016 by a friendly French restaurant couple, Valerie and Franck, this chain specializes in preparing take-out picnics (up to 70 meals), made with fresh, and local, produce whenever possible: salads, poke bowls, sandwiches, desserts, fresh juices, and homemade beverages, offering vegetarian and vegan options for almost every dish, and even lending out a cooler and icepack. Everything is good, carefully prepared and eco-friendly, and the location is central, just steps from the Cathedral.

A menu of fish, meat, but also simpler dishes such as pizzas or salads. Prices vary greatly according to your choice: Crawfish paella or hamburger… this is the question! At the end of the port, it's a real treat!

La Cayena is the place to be if you are a traveller. Pabo, Mónica and their grandchildren, Nico and Martín, have travelled around the world and brought back various experiences and influences, including culinary ones. For more than ten years, the restaurant La Cayena has been offering a culinary journey to the four corners of the world: Mediterranean salads, Thai woks, Japanese tempura, Italian and Moroccan specialities, Tex-Mex, Indian or Pakistani cuisine... Made with local products, they are served on the terrace and prepared with love!

Map in French. You can eat only a salad and pasta, but it would be a pity not to taste fish. Take 30 € and more if you ask for crustaceans. The best restaurant at the moment. Everything is good!

However, if the prospect of finding you in the middle of the tourist doesn't seem to be exciting, let us dine on the terrace of one of the port's restaurants. From 13 to 15 € per person, a little more for seafood. Modest budgets or small appetites would be relaxing on the countless tapas bars in the harbour area, which is busy at night.

Bep Caules, creator and founder of the renowned Cafè Balear in the port of Ciutadella, opens the doors of Pins 46, a place where you can rediscover traditions such as the Vermut moment, dishes and recipes from the 1970s. Located in the heart of the historic quarter, in a typical Menorcan house with a welcoming interior patio, you can enjoy excellent tapas made with products from the island, such as the speciality eggs and bouquets from Ciutadella. Croquettes, octopus a la gallega, carpaccios, meatballs or mussels complete the menu.

This bar-restaurant offers its customers an attractive concept: you go shopping at the markets (check opening hours), to stock up on the freshest products, and cook your food on the spot! Otherwise, the menu gives pride of place to seafood specialities with typical tapas and some more original dishes to enjoy on the terrace. A nice surprise!

Restaurant Faustino in Ciutadella offers the perfect combination of pleasure and well-being with its Mediterranean cuisine based on local producers. We're fans of the sparkling setting and creative cuisine of this charming address nestled in a pedestrian street not far from the Cathedral. There's a small terrace in front of the restaurant, and inside, a warmly decorated room in shades of yellow. The dining experience is just as colorful and surprising. There's no hesitation in mixing flavors to awaken the taste buds. As the name suggests, seafood is well represented on the menu. Try the ceviche, for example, a pure delight. A resolutely modern cuisine.

Located on Plaça des Born, right in the center of town, this trendy café-bistro is a good choice if you want to enjoy healthy, modern cuisine woven from local traditions. Es Born opens its doors in the morning, offering guests an efficient and comprehensive breakfast (not a bad way to start the day!), and continues its service at lunch and dinner, with excellent menu proposals featuring typical recipes brought up to date. On the terrace or in the dining room, tourists and locals mingle.

We love this little café full of sweet and savory delights for eating on the go (or to take away) right across from the cathedral. The food is prepared with fresh ingredients, and you can feel it in every bite. As well as tasty sandwiches and bagels, you can try Argentinian and Uruguayan specialties such as alfajores, medialunas, croissants with dulce de leche and empanadas. And to top it all off (which is no mean feat for a café...), the coffee is really good!

It's true that the outdoor space is particularly pleasant: you could linger there for hours, sipping impeccably concocted cocktails and rethinking the world! Perfect for a night out with friends, but also - why not! - to meet new people. In short, the perfect blend of setting, ambience and fine cuisine.

Nestled in a cave, this typical seafood restaurant with its nautical decor spreads out its large white and blue terrace at the entrance to the port. The à la carte menu focuses on seafood specialities and traditional recipes, such as seafood paella or the famous caldereta, not forgetting dishes based on bluefin tuna. As is often the case with this type of establishment, which is a little touristy, the bill can rise very, very quickly. Of particular note: the freshness of the products (thanks to their proximity to the sea!) and the pleasant setting.

A contemporary bistro in the heart of the old town, opened by the owners of S'Amarador, a well-known restaurant in the port of Cuitadella. The tapas from the sea (the house specialty!) have a Mediterranean flavour and are served in a warm, sober setting. Their star product is oysters, available in 5 different varieties selected for their freshness and quality. Try the red tuna tataki, ceviche (depending on the catch of the day) or the excellent bellota ham.

Housed in a century-old finca, Nonna Bazaar emerges like an oasis in the Menorcan countryside. Here you'll discover the splendid house with its colorful walls, built in 1637, and the adjoining gardens that serve as the setting for the restaurant. Opposite the house is a large, beautiful terrace with a chic, relaxed atmosphere. The unpretentious menu features rich, sun-drenched flavors from both shores of the Mediterranean, from Spain and Morocco to Italy and Greece. Music and DJ set during meals. Cocktail selection. Attractive on-site boutique.

An absolute must for those looking for a takeaway address, Ulisses restaurant is nestled in Plaça del Mercat (5 minutes from the store). Dishes change daily and are prepared with local, seasonal ingredients. Rice specialties and roasted meats are available at weekends. You can also order or collect your meal directly from the Ulisses Bar. What a change from the typical sandwiches for picnics on the beach!

You'll discover this friendly, healthy café on a pleasant little square, Plaça d'Artrutx. On the terrace, at breakfast or lunchtime, sweet and savory mingle, with vegan pancakes and delicious (cold-pressed) fruit juices, homemade kimchi sandwiches and acai bowls. As indicated on the menu, the vast majority of products used are organic and local, and all their breads are sourdough. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and even sugar-free options! Several types of kombucha too. Healthy and very good.
