Sant Lluis, 5 km from Mahón, is an almost obligatory stop for French people travelling to the island. It was founded during the first French conquest, in 1760, by the Duke of Richelieu. The town is nevertheless tiny, and apart from the historical wink, not very interesting. Stop by the Moli de Dalt Ethnological Museum, one of the few mills that have survived the passage of time among the many that used to operate in Menorca. Built in the mid-19th century, it now houses the Museum of Old Menorca. In Sant Lluis there are also typical bars, some restaurants and a good hotel infrastructure.
