The island is home to two major sites of interest: the ruins of a Paleochristian basilica and a former military hospital that earned it the nickname "Bloody Island". The latter has been restored after many years of decadence and transformed into a museum dedicated to medicine, housing the Colección Médica-Biológica Hospital Illa del Rei.
