The small village of Sineu, located right in the center of Majorca, is one of the oldest on the island: it was founded by James II of Aragon (1267-1327). Its church, dedicated to Santa Maria, is certainly the most remarkable building of the village: built in 1248, it was ravaged by a fire in 1505 to be rebuilt in a Gothic style. You will enjoy strolling through the pedestrian streets punctuated by charming squares with a medieval look, and even more so at nightfall: when the lights of the church come on, the atmosphere is festive. Every Wednesday morning, Sineu hosts a craft market... for 700 years!
