Porto Petro is an old fishing village with a few yachts in its harbour and a large number of typical wooden fishing boats, the famous Balearic llaüts. From the nautical club (Real Club Nàutic de Portopetro), you can go on excursions in the surrounding area. A number of typical cafés and restaurants dot the harbour promenade, and two small beaches are within walking distance of the town center (a regular bus service can also take you to Mondrago beach in 10 minutes). Last but not least, the huge 5-star Blau Porto Petro beach resort, with over 200 rooms, attracts quite a crowd in high season.
