A seaside resort close to Palma (10 km), organized around an idyllic beach - Platja d'Illetes - with crystal-clear turquoise waters. More chic than Magaluf, Illetes is home to several trendy addresses and a few fine restaurants. On the other hand, we think it's a little too urbanized, which detracts from its charm. Another drawback is that it's crowded in summer. So it's best to get there early in the morning to make sure there's enough room. Apart from its beauty, Illetes beach has the advantage of being easily accessible, a 20-minute bus ride from the capital. Hence the crowds! In short, don't go there in high season, especially if you're looking for a quiet spot.
