The largest market in Palma with over 50 years of history, it is located in a covered market hall in the city centre. While strolling through the old town, don't miss this small shop open to the street and full of typical products: sobrasadas and other cold meats, fig bread, jams, gourmet preserves (pork liver pâté with truffles, for example), Menorcan cheese, toasted Balearic almonds, almond milk liqueur (produced in Mallorca)... although the sobrasada remains the undisputed star. The owner will also give you a warm welcome (he speaks French!) and will be happy to advise you.

On the east side of town, stop by this lively municipal market, which has been held since 1943. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, local farmers display their products in the open air, along with some of their animals. With a large number of stalls, spread over more than 1,000 square metres, the Pere Garau market is one of the largest in Palma. Here you can break the bank (especially for tapas). In addition to foodstuffs, the market also sells fabric by the metre with typical Balearic dyes.
