WaterLovers is a picturesque resort on the tropical shores of the Indian Ocean. Only 35 km from Mombasa, it is located at Diani Beach, on the southern coast of Kenya, which is well known for its white sandy beaches and warm turquoise waters - an ideal setting for an oceanfront vacation in paradise.
The beginning
WaterLovers was born out of our passion for the ocean.
True to the old adage: "Life has many surprises", we found ourselves in Kenya, close to the ocean and nature, finding a paradise in Africa.
We were initially deeply inspired to come to Africa after watching a documentary about mountain gorillas in Uganda. Valentina finally realized her dream of visiting them on a trip around the world. We started our escapade with a safari in the Massai Mara in Kenya, which left us absolutely amazed. at the end of our safari, we were curious about the Kenyan coast. So we decided to spend a week on the south coast and... it was love at first sight!
The south coast of Kenya impressed us with its colorful and relaxing atmosphere, which is in stark contrast to the hectic life in Mombasa. What's more, Diani Beach is close to Mombasa International Airport and to services such as banks, supermarkets, stores, hospitals of European standards.
We started our hotel in a totally wild location, on a white sandy beach, overlooking a blue lagoon bordered by the coral reef, 500 meters away. Diani Beach offers windy conditions, fantastic water and pleasant temperature.
The project
Every little detail of the hotel has been thought, designed and built by ourselves. The style is Afro-Chic, we had such a pleasure to realize it here. Waterlovers is a combination of Sardinia (Sardinia is an island in Italy in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea) and Caribbean influence that incorporates many of the ideas we have gathered from our world travels. The use of beautiful local materials adds an invigorating, rounded and ethnic touch to our design.
WaterLovers has eight spacious rooms, each with a private veranda and ocean view. Our oceanfront restaurant offers exotic cuisine blending Mediterranean recipes with local ingredients. Relax in our turtle-shaped infinity pool while enjoying an unobstructed ocean view. We also have a villa (again with an ocean view) that can accommodate up to eight people. This villa is equipped with a fully equipped kitchen and we can provide you with a chef.
There is a clear reason behind our slogan: "Come as a guest, leave as a friend". We strongly believe in supporting our guests in the planning of their vacations and we will be happy to help you plan a safari or an excursion while you are with us.
Unlike larger hotels, we pride ourselves on our ability to establish a sincere and personal contact with our guests and our goal is to make your experience at WaterLovers as unique as possible.
The hotel has eight very spacious rooms, a self-contained villa and a swimming pool. Each room has a private veranda with an ocean view. The centerpiece of our hotel is the turtle-shaped infinity pool. We look forward to welcoming our guests to our beachfront restaurant, where you will have the opportunity to experience a custom-made cuisine combining Mediterranean recipes with local ingredients, while enjoying the breeze and calm of the Indian Ocean. Feet in the sand...
Enjoy an exclusive stay at WaterLovers and the perfect combination of comfort and exotic cuisine.
WaterLovers
The eight rooms at WaterLovers are equipped with air conditioning, fan, mosquito nets, safety deposit box, audio station for i-pod, i-phone and other MP3 players, wi-fi internet connection, SIM card to use in your personal cell phone for local and international calls. In all our double rooms, we can add a bed upon request.
Each suite has a large private veranda with ocean view. The interior decoration is a mix between Swahili culture and Mediterranean style. The Arabic word "Swahili" means "of the Coast" and is the traditional language of East Africa. But Swahili is more than a language. It is also the true culture of the East African coast, combining African and Arabic elements, the blend of East and West - the result is a breathtaking fusion. You can feel it in every nook and cranny of WaterLovers and in its interior design.
Choose the Bed & Breakfast option and enjoy the freedom to decide whether you want to have lunch or dinner in our "Tides" restaurant. Our Ocean Spirit Beach Bar is perfect if you want to enjoy cocktails, juices, aperitifs, and good music.
