Admired by Victor Hugo, the Saints-Michel-et-Gudule cathedral is a jewel of gothic style. The stained glass windows alone are worth a visit.
Visible from afar, recognizable by its Brabantine Gothic towers, the cathedral was originally the church of Saint Michael the Mount, built on one of the hills of Brussels. It was replaced by a Romanesque collegiate church in 1047. The relics of Saint Gudula were brought there from the church of Saint-Gery and the building, renamed Saints-Michel-et-Gudule, became a place of pilgrimage. The stained glass windows in the side chapels date from the 16th century, after cartoons by Bernard Van Orley.

La majestueuse cathédrale de Bruxelles. Parfois mise à l'écart, à tord, par les circuit touristiques, elle mérite le détour si vous passez par là.

Très jolie
Très jolie cathédrale de l'extérieur comme de l'intérieur. J'y suis allée en décembre à quelques jours de Noël et quelle surprise de voir toutes ces crèches de plein de pays du monde. Beaucoup de variétés de crèches animées qui apporte un charme supplémentaire à cette cathédrale.

cathédrale belge
même si c'est le principal lieu de culte en Belgique, cette cathédrale ne vaut pas ND de Reims ou de Chartres... Quelques vitraux moyens, une expo d'art contemporain qui ne semble pas à sa place... Je pense que Bruxelles mériterait mieux comme Cathédrale.
