Located 79 km from Chiclayo, this archaeological complex of Apurlec, with an area of 27 km², bequeathed by the tiahuanaco culture that later developed by the Mochicas, Chimús and Incas, presents pyramids and tanks deteriorated by the huaqueros. The visits are rare, because the sites were not preserved. To visit on the spot, the ruins of Apurlec: they constitute a monumental archaeological whole. They are made of pyramidal platforms linked to esplanades and ceremonial enclosures, built by the pre-Columbian Lambayeque and Chimú cultures. The National Institute of Culture has now declared them cultural heritage
