The Casa de la Portada de los dos Leones, where the regional council is now held, is a superb 16th-century residence. Its 3 patios, its wooden constructions of algarrobo (a protected species from which algarrobina is extracted), its coloured murals, its rococo pediment and its two lions above the baroque style door give it a lot of character. It is considered by the specialists as the most representative of the architecture of Trujillo.

Magnifique demeure également nommée Casa Ganoza Chopitea, elle abrite actuellement un salon de café et restaurant. Les restes de ses fresques maniéristes en valent la visite.
