Travel Guide Laguna Azul - Sauce

50 km from the city, about 2 hours by car. After driving the 35 km from Tarapoto to Puerto Lopez, crossing the Huallaga River and passing through the hills, you will arrive in the woodland village of Sauce, located on the shores of the Laguna Azul. With a surface area of 430 hectares and a depth of 35 metres, at an altitude of 650 metres, this lagoon is dressed in colours ranging from turquoise blue to emerald green. It shelters a diversified fauna (kingfishers, herons, eagles...) which appreciates the temperature of its waters (between 25 and 28 °C). From there, everything is possible: swimming, canoeing and even horseback riding, and also sleeping on site
