Surrounded by the tropical selva, 110 km from Jaén, on the 1,350 m high San Ignacio de Loyola hills, the city built by the Jesuits in 1646 has the same features as the provincial capital. From the Cerro Campana you can get an overview of the city and the surrounding forest. The adventure lovers can, by horse or mule, reach the site of Faical where petroglyphs were engraved; the route is wild and fascinating. The Miraflores, Mora and Namballe rivers are ideal for canoeing. This area is not well known nationally or internationally, and is a confidential area. Basic services on site.
