Vilcashuamán was the main administrative center of the Tahuantinsuyo, the Inca Empire. As in the famous Qorikancha of Cusco, there is a stone church on the bases of the Inca Sun Templo very well preserved. Further on, the ushnu or ceremonial pyramid and the seat of the Inca Pachacútec that dominated the square. These are the most beautiful ruins in the region. Spend a day there and stop to see the giant puyas raimondi cactus of Titancayocc, then the lagoon of Intihuatana and its ruins.
