105 km from Puno, 1h30 drive. This village has two small jewels: two temples of the XVIIth and XVIIIth centuries, built in pink sandstone and whose altars are gilded with fine gold (entrance for 2 soles). The Temple of Santiago Apostol is reminiscent of the churches of Cusco, with paintings from the Cusquenian school and catacombs. From here we will have a view of the Titicaca and the Copacabana peninsula and the white sand beaches: the Altiplano Balcony. This will be the last stop on the Peruvian Titicaca side. From Pomata, you have two choices to cross the Bolivian border: to the northeast, Yunguyo, to the southeast, Desaguadero.
