A profusion of colours, feathers, glittering costumes. The party is in full swing for hours and days. Exceptional.
More than 200 music and dance groups are gathered. The main day is February 2, when the Virgin is led through the city in a huge and colourful procession. One of the main events is the "dance of the devils" (or diablada), which miners trapped in an underground passage are said to have composed to pray to the Virgin. People wear phantasmagorical and zoomorphic masks. In parallel, a competition of these traditional dances takes place.
