Two hours drive from Chivay (the track is in relatively good condition), this big village, planted in the middle of corn fields at 3 287 m of altitude, is a dead end. Budget travelers will feel better here than in Chivay: there are far fewer tourist buses and the small hotels are charming! It is also much quieter at night. It is also from there that the courageous, accompanied or not by a guide, will undertake the 1500 m dive to the bottom of the cañon, by a zigzag trail. The path is easy to follow at the beginning, but there are many false trails and if you do it on your own, it is better to form a small group
