Cedros, the northernmost municipality of Horta, is a small, peaceful hamlet of barely a thousand inhabitants. Its green pastures and valleys, where cedars have always grown (hence the name of the village), will delight nature lovers. The tree-covered hills and farmland extend to the coastal cliffs, a natural plateau above the sea. The village still has many typical Azorean houses, as the various earthquakes that have shaken Faial have only slightly affected this part of the island. Take the time to stroll through its streets and don't miss a visit to the beautiful Porto da Eira.
