The place located in Ribeira Grande, where people from all over the world come to worship the Imagem do Senhor Santo Cristo dos Milagres.
The church, with its white façade and massive square basalt bell tower, proudly overlooks the square from the top of the monumental steps leading up to the portal. It was consecrated in 1517. The sacristy houses a small museum of sacred art, featuring a beautiful 16th-century Flemish triptych of St. Andrew. This is where people from all over the world come to worship the "Imagem do Senhor Santo Cristo dos Milagres", mainly in mid-May. Well worth a visit.
