Dominated by a minaret, M'tsapéré was still a pretty village on the waterfront in 2000. The small road, which ran along the lagoon between the houses and the mangrove to the mosque at the water's edge, used to be the only one and that was the problem. With the development of Mamoudzou, M'tsapéré had become an increasingly difficult suburb to cross at the time of arrival and departure of the offices. Today, the mangrove has disappeared, because the lagoon has been filled in and a vast median strip has largely enlarged the village and allowed for a bypass, where traffic is much better, it is the new bypass. On your left, nice views of Petite-Terre and its rock, then Pamandzi with its airport and the Bouzi islet facing you. It is on this island that it is possible to see makis in semi-captivity since they are blocked by the water, but free on nearly 85 hectares of dry forest. As soon as you enter this bush, you will see them without any problem! Bouzi is today a natural reserve managed by naturalists. Several hotels and restaurants have taken advantage of this proximity to Mamoudzou to develop and find a regular and loyal clientele. It is a good alternative to be more quiet, enjoy beautiful views over the lagoon while not being very far to go to work in the morning or join a nautical activity from the north pier.
