The Guinness Book of World Records cited Saint Petersburg as the city with the most consecutive sunny days, with a performance of 768 days, from February 9, 1967 to March 17, 1969. For the record: from 1910 to 1986, the Saint Petersburg Evening Independent, the local newspaper, decided that the newspaper would be distributed free of charge on bad weather days. A promotion that didn't cost much because in 76 years, it was only distributed for free 295 times, less than 4 times a year! The downtown area is very lively, with stores, museums (including the superb Dali museum) and restaurants. The brand new Pier extends this animation to the sea.
