Bracciano is loved by Romans on holiday for its lake of volcanic origin, declared a regional natural park. Surrounded by a rich and dense vegetation, it is, with its surface of 57,5 km2, the eighth of Italy by its size and the sixth by its depth! It is possible to take a boat trip there from April to September. Bracciano is worth a visit, and not only for the lake. History buffs will be equally impressed by the imposing 15th century Orsini-Odescalchi castle. Not far from Bracciano, still around the lake, a visit to the medieval villages of Anguillara Sabazia and Trevigiano Romano is also worth considering.
