The agricultural activity of Arco da Calheta is one of the oldest on the island. The very green landscape is also more hilly than elsewhere. The terraced crops and stone walls outline regular curves and give all its charm to this area, which also includes part of the Laurissilva forest. On the heights (leave the coastal road for a while), you can climb up to Pico da Calheta to stretch your legs. At an altitude of 800 m, it offers an exceptional view and the walk is not too long. Another point of view, more open, is proposed to you just above the village: it is the small plateau of Saint-Antoine.
