João Gonçalves Henriques founded the wine company Henrique & Henrique in 1850. When he died, his two sons were resuming the case, hence the current name. They are the only wine producers in Madeira with their own vineyards. In Câmara de Lobos there are a tasting room where some wooden barrels are exposed, as well as the offices, the laboratory and a storage space of stainless steel tanks located in the basement. On the spot (if you are lucky!), you can have the right to some information about Madeira wine and taste four types of wines: dry, mid-dry, sweet and half-sweet.
