Like Casa Velha, the very frequented motherhouse next door, with slightly higher prices, Dona Amélia, with its precious chalet setting overlooking the Quinta da Penha França, is one of Funchal's good restaurants. At the foot of the casino, the consistently high quality table presents a fairly extensive menu of Mediterranean cuisine with options for every budget, from the classic grilled tuna steak to prepared lobster. Exposed kitchen, copper hood, pink tablecloths, old wooden chairs, hanging ferns: the setting is set!

Que dire de plus à part que nous recommandons dons vivement ce restaurant. C’était notre dernier repas dans l’île et il était parfait !
De bons produits certainement mais une cuisine fade et sans originalité. Poisson et légumes à l eau… le seul restaurant de Madère à ne pas connaître l huile d olive …
