Often neglected in favour of Mdina, it is a village that deserves a visit because it is simply charming, with its catacombs, museums and lively little streets. Better to visit it on Saturday or Sunday to enjoy its vitality. Everywhere you will find beautiful houses, often well renovated, and tiny old-fashioned shops where everyone seems to have their own habits. The separation of Mdina and Rabat by the Arabs, in 870, deprived it of its ramparts and exposed it helplessly to all kinds of aggression. If the two cities are one today, Rabat remains the residential and working part of the whole
