This high altitude village with houses covered with lauze is sheltered by a basaltic cliff. Its Romanesque church built in the 12th century is classified as a historical monument. The bell-tower-comb comes from the old chartreuse of Bonnefoy, in Ardèche. At 2 km from the village, a high altitude lake (1 236 m) was formed in the explosion crater of a volcano (maar). This lake of 30 ha is fed by underground springs and small streams. It is populated by various varieties of fish, especially carp and salmon trout. It is a private property, you don't have access to it but a nice and very easy path makes a great tour.
